Kathy McCready, founder and Director of Providence Health and Fitness, has always been dedicated to a healthy lifestyle. As a young woman growing up in New York, Kathy became a student of the Julliard School in New York city and studied with the School of American Ballet. She danced under the direction of Russian choreographer, George Balanchine, at the age of 13. Later, she performed classical ballet with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Company, San Francisco, and the New Jersey Ballet Companies. She became a student protégé to some of the world’s most notable and discerning choreographers and embraced her dedication to the art of dance with intensity and commitment, like a true world-class athlete.
Today, Kathy’s strive for excellence permeates through all aspects of her life. By taking her formal training and making a commitment to improving the quality of people’s lives, she is a constant advocate of health and wellness. She has created, managed, and directed exclusive wellness and fitness centers throughout the country and has taught over 12,000 fitness classes. Kathy’s certifications in physiologies such as Pilates, GYROTONIC® Expansion System, Integral Hatha Yoga, massage, and spa therapies continue to make her a leader in these fields. She is often quoted as saying “Every day is a gift, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a difference”.
Kathy was introduced to Barre Intensity by a simple email she received. It sounded interesting and right up her alley. "When I checked out the Barre Intensity web site, I knew I had to be a part of this organization. It is such a well put together barre program and the creator Stephanie Lyons is amazing. She definitely has her act together and her knowledge, intention, and focus to develop this particular barre program is a 5-diamond approach." Kathy is excited to be a Barre Intensity Master Trainer and to have Providence Health and Fitness be a training center for up and coming instructors.
