When It All Started
Let’s roll the cameras back to 2014. Barre Intensity was just a little addition to the schedule at a pilates and barre studio then owned by Barre Intensity Founder Stephanie Lyons. When Stephanie purchased the Barre Intensity name in 2014, she was primarily focused on her fitness studio which she also purchased at the exact same time. In the beginning, Barre Intensity was the secondary focus, but three months into owning the studio, Stephanie realized her passion for barre fitness education was higher than she could have ever imagined. Fast forward just 2 short years to 2016. Stephanie sold her Pilates and barre studio and began focusing 100% on Barre Intensity as a barre fitness education brand. You may be wondering where the Barre Intensity brand was born. Read on for Fun Fact 2!

Where It All Started
The state of the apple blossom is where the brand Barre Intensity blossomed….Michigan! That’s right, the good ole Midwest. It all started inside a small Pilates and barre studio in West Bloomfield, Michigan and now you can find our educated instructors all over the globe. Since Barre Intensity no longer has a physical studio presence, you may be wondering where we film all of our Barre Now content. Look no further than a basement space that used to be an extra family room turned barre filming studio.

Who Makes It Work
It must take a giant team to share your barre education across the globe! Yes, you’re right, but with a large reach, we have a rather small team. Currently, we have three full-time employees at Barre Intensity. Our Founder, Stephanie Lyons, resides in Royal Oak, Michigan. Owner and Master Trainer, Mica O’Dell, resides in Joplin, Missouri. Brand Manager and Master Trainer, Maria Barr, resides in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Social Media Manager - Spanish Speaking Market, Sandra Beltran lives in Colombia. Our East Asia Program Director, Nattamon Romero, resides in Thailand.
In addition to our small but mighty full-time team, we also have some incredibly talented Master Trainers around the world. From California to New Jersey and Mexico to Hong Kong, our barre education is able to reach anyone and everyone. Currently, our Master Trainer team is made up of 30 talented barre education leaders all over the world.

We’ve been delivering choreographed classes on Barre Now since 2015. We offer over 300+ full choreographed barre classes on Barre Now and growing, over 20+ different Tracks releases with one new Release each month, and over 14 barre education workshops and certifications at your fingertips 24/7.

Where We’re Headed
Our mission is to continue to develop and bring new barre education around the globe. Currently, we have five Spanish-speaking Master Trainers in four different countries and three of our fourteen barre courses offered fully in Spanish. We’ve recently created our new Barre Intensity Spanish Instagram account, @barreintensityes as well. We’re committed to creating and adding a few more courses to our growing library of barre education. Es muy emocionante! (It’s very exciting).
