Kathy McCready, founder and Director of Providence Health and Fitness, has always been dedicated to a healthy lifestyle. As a young woman growing up in New York, Kathy became a student of the Julliard School in New York city and studied with the School of American Ballet. She danced under the direction of Russian choreographer, George Balanchine, at the age of 13. Later, she performed classical ballet with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Company, San Francisco, and the New Jersey Ballet Companies. She became a student protégé to some of the world’s most notable and discerning choreographers and embraced her dedication to the art of dance with intensity and commitment, like a true world-class athlete.
Rachelle Cohen
During my childhood, I attended years of ballet and dance classes. Ballet taught me discipline, control and precision. As an adult, I joined fitness clubs taking various classes – strength, cardio, kickboxing, Pilates and dance. For many years of attending exercise classes, I developed a passion for fitness. I pursued my certification through AFAA. Then I discovered barre classes and pursued to learn the technique and training. Having a diverse background in fitness, I began teaching Barre, Pilates and other low-impact formats. Seeing participants change their bodies, be stronger is an amazing accomplishment, regardless of fitness level. I encourage participants to challenge their body and mind and step out of their comfort level. The rewarding benefits of exercise is an important factor of healthy living.
With every challenge.....comes perseverance....then comes change. It's not about perfection but doing your BEST! Be purposeful and move with intention. Just remember, "SUMMER is always coming"!
