You are what you eat, and you keep what you don’t burn off, at least that’s Amanda’s motto when it comes to food and fitness.
Amanda is an upbeat, personal, and fun Barre Pilates and Barre Sculpt instructor in Rockville, MD. Amanda’s main aim as a barre instructor is to bring her class to achieve their best barre form while thoroughly enjoying a challenging workout.
Amanda started her barre training as a classically trained dancer from the age of 2 well into her twenties. Amanda is trained in many different styles such as ballet, jazz, tap , hip hop, and African. Her study started in the Maryland at Strathmore, Imagine Stage, and Casey Community Center and she later continued her study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison adding on more worldwide influences such as Javanese dance.
Amanda’s fitness journey started in the pediatrician’s office when she was diagnosed with an adverse health issue requiring her to take-on a rigorous fitness schedule. From there Amanda started taking on high-intensity workouts 1-3 hours a day including in her practice HIIT, Step, yoga, and cardio dance.
Rounding out her health education Amanda continued her studies into Fitness and Nutrition at the graduate and undergraduate levels earning a Nutritional Sciences degree focusing on biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology to inform her work in the nutritional toxicology lab and then furthering her studies into graduate school with a degree in Biological Studies with a focus on Biomedical Sciences where she worked in a cellular biology lab.
With Amanda’s background in dance, gymnastics, group fitness, and cheer she hopes to bring a new-age of fun and lively Barre classes to a workout near you.
