From a young age, I have been passionate about fitness, wellness and movement. I have worked in many roles and settings in the fitness and recreation industry for the last 19 years. I possess a BS in Kinesiology & Health from Iowa State University & MS in Recreation & Sport Management from the University of Illinois. In addition, I am also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor and a Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach. I think it's important to stay current in the industry and provide balance in my training and classes, which is why I have attained many additional certifications. These include TRX Suspension Training, ASFA Mat Pilates, Mad Dogg Athletics Spinning, FMS Level 1, JumpSport Fitness Trampoline, Dynamo Soviet Kettlebell, RRCA Certified Running Coach, Beachbody Live INSANITY, & now BarreIntensity Instructor Training. My happy place is running and I have been a distance runner for over 25 years and have competed in races from 5ks to marathons including Chicago & Boston. I also enjoy strength training because of how it helps me feel confident and strong. Barre is my favorite form of exercise to do and teach because of the variety of movements and the music! When I am not in the gym, I enjoy exploring, hiking, and biking with my husband Mike and taking our sweet Yorkie named Coco out on stroller walks (she is almost completely blind)! I am excited to join the BarreIntensity Master Trainer team and look forward to helping others learn the format and bring it to their community too!
