Liz graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Oakland University. She went on to receive a Masters of Liberal Studies from The University of Denver in Arts Development and Program Management. Beginning her dance education at a young age, she has studied many forms of dance. Liz’s professional credentials are extensive. She has studied with the Alvin Ailey Dance Program in New York City, performed as a guest dancer with EDE Motown in Motion, danced professionally with MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company, Vertical Ambition Dance Company, ArtJab J Dance, and Life/Art Dance Ensemble. Additionally, she has toured with singer Tunde Olaniran, performing in cities throughout the United States. Liz has performed as a b-girl under the name ElizaBEAST, carrying on the roots of traditional hip hop. She has been a guest artist with Farmington High School, Cranbrook Schools, and the Michigan Thespian Festival. Liz has taught comprehensively throughout Michigan and Colorado, including many years at the historic Village Youth Theatre in Birmingham. Liz’s philosophy is one that integrates injury prevention, technique, and self-expression through movement. Liz began taking barre classes to incorporate into her training and immediately knew this was something she wanted to become certified in. Liz immediately saw the changes barre made in her body alignment and muscle definition. Liz took the Barre Intensity Training Workshop and worked on her teaching techniques to become a fully certified Barre Intensity instructor. Liz is as well certified in Progressing ballet Technique and a Level 3 certified Essentrics trainer; this method focuses on the elongation of the muscles through stretching and strengthening, allowing for proper alignment to facilitate, preventing injuries. Liz is so excited to share her love for fitness through Barre Intensity.
