Jill’s passion for fitness began over twenty five years ago when she cultivated her own yoga practice and started exercising daily trying everything from kickboxing, spinning, pilates and group fitness circuit training classes, as a way to reduce stress and anxiety from college life. After graduating and becoming a school social worker she decided to expand her fitness journey into teaching yoga to the children she worked with in school, as well as coaching a Girls on the Run team. Many years later while recovering from multiple injuries she endured training for the Chicago Marathon, she began to refocus more of her attention on her yoga practice and became a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher, and a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Integrative Institute of Nutrition. As a yoga teacher at Hot and Soul Yoga in Colts Neck and Red Bank, New Jersey the next natural progression was for Jill to follow in the footsteps of many of the other yoga teachers at the studio and incorporate a Barre certification into her practice. Having developed a passion for the Barre Intensity classes that were being taught at the studio, the certification and training process were a truly exciting endeavor. Jill finds so much joy in being able to provide her students with fun, mindful, challenging workouts to help them to reduce their stress, improve their health, and reach their fitness goals. Her hope is to continue to guide those she encounters in both her yoga teaching practice and barre intensity classes, to cultivate their own tool box of mind body practices to create harmony and peace in their lives. Jill’s teaching style is diverse, intentional, and from her soul. She attempts to find a niche for everyone whether it is a slower paced mindful meditative vinyasa practice or a heart pumping barre class, so come check out one of her classes soon!!
